Elbert “AL” D. Wolverton, Hopwood, Pa.

     Elbert “AL” D. Wolverton, 74 of Hopwood, Pa. passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 with his family at his side. He is now resting in Heaven, cancer free, after a 3 1/2 year battle.

     He was born March 22, 1944 to his parents, Henry and Helen (Burke) Wolverton.

     Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Lloyd (Marian) Wolverton and his ex-wife Shirley Wolverton.

     Left to cherish his memory, his wife of 35 years, Jan (Humphrey) Wolverton and Fur Baby Alfy; children, Terri (George) Syner, Debbie (Howie) Bella, Robert (Sheila) Wolverton and Chrissy (Jimmy) Shaffer; grandchildren, Kevin and Dylan Bella, Michelle, Robert Jr., Tylor, Saralyn and Isaiah Wolverton, Cody and Jessica Shaffer, Michael and Melissa Wiles and Noah Allison; siblings, Lori Jones, Gladys Sebulsky, Jack (Olivia) Wolverton, Mary (Frank) Verano, Bonnie (Jerry) Yeager and Mooneen Lynn.

     AL was a U.S. Army Veteran, lifetime member of Amvets Post 103, American Legion Post 278 and Hutchinson Sportsman’s Club.

     He enjoyed hunting, fishing and carpentry. His favorite pastime was building jigsaw puzzles with Chrissy (Daddy’s Little Girl).

     The family will greet friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Harry Strauser officiating.

     Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa. with Military Rites being accorded by General Marshall Amvets Post 103.
