Ernest V. Dillow, Haydentown, Pa.
Ernest V. Dillow, 88 of Haydentown, Pa. died unexpectedly on Sunday evening, December 16, 2018 at the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born January 11, 1930 in Haydentown, Pa. the son of Perry Madison Dillow and Mary Ethel (Myers) Dillow.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Ilene Straitiff and Arlene Durant; brother, Alpheus Dillow and his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Janet (Miller) Dillow.
Ernie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather; brother and friend who enjoyed spending time with them all. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and participating in whatever his family wanted to do.
Surviving are his daughters, Janet Newcomer and husband Donald and Sharon Layhue and husband Bill; grandchildren, Dianna Myers, David Myers and wife Tulsi, Bill Layhue Jr. and wife Christie and Josh Layhue and wife Cora; great grandchildren, Dylan, Caden, Ethan and Gavin Tate, Trinity Myers, Madison and Mason Layhue, Roman, Olivia and Luca Cerminero and Emett Layhue; sisters, Sara Braddee and Linda McCoy; many nieces and nephews and breakfast buddy and best friend, Bill Abraham.
Ernie was very proud of being employed with the former B & O Railroad, Chessie System and now CSX Transportation Railroad for 40 years until his retirement. He kept the tracks under the trains.
The family will greet friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 10 to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ken Walls officiating.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.
