Gary P. Hardy

     Gary P. Hardy, 82, of Fairchance, Pa. passed away Saturday October 12, 2019.

      He was born March 7, 1937 in Farichance, Pa. to George "Spud" Hardy and Irene (Swaney) Hardy.

     Gary was preceded in death by his parents and 5 sisters, Florence Zaph, Kathryn O'Brien, Irma June Abraham, Hazel Stagger, and Georgetta Price.

     He leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years Janice (Rhodes) Hardy; children, Vickie (Daniel) Leone, of Uniontown, Pa. and George (Rosemary) Hardy, of Uniontown, Pa.; three grandchildren, Jenna (Glenn) Jansen, of York, PA, Angela (Donovan) DeAngelo, of Uniontown, Pa. and Jason Leone, of Uniontown,Pa.; two great grandchildren, Lily and Wyatt Jansen of York, PA.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

     Gary retired as a Milk Truck Driver from Fike's Dairy in 1999 after 30 years of service and as a member of the Teamsters Local 491. Gary loved playing baseball, spending time with friends and family, his John Deere tractor, his porch swing, and his cast iron skillets. 

     The family will greet friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 10 to 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Watson officiating.

     Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
