John Thomas Kohrman

John Thomas Kohrman, 70, of Lake Lynn, Pa. and formerly of Masontown, Pa., died Saturday, October 26, 2019, at his home.  Born in Uniontown on Aug. 13, 1949, he was a son of the late John H. and Rosella May (Shaw) Kohrman. 

A 1967 graduate of Fairchance-Georges High School, John honorably served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps and received the Purple Heart Medal.  He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 4584 in Masontown, and the D.A.V. Post 58.

Surviving are four children, Earle Kohrman of Texas and Christina Kay Kohrman of Lake Lynn, with whom he resided; Charlene M. Ferrell and husband Ben of Tennessee and Thomas C. Pizer of Kentucky; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Georgetta Nelson and Roberta Lonsinger.

Friends will be received in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, Fairchance, on Wednesday from 4 - 6 PM. Funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM, with his sister Georgetta officiating.  Interment, with full military honors accorded by the V.F.W. Post 4584, will take place in the Fairchance American Legion Post Veterans Cemetery, November 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
