Kenneth Ray Matthews, McClellandtown, Pa.

     Kenneth Ray Matthews, 60 of McClellandtown, Pa. passed away peacefully at home with his family near him on Thursday, September 5, 2019.

     He was born July 20, 1959 in Uniontown, Pa.

     Preceding him in death were his parents, Herbert Matthews and Edna Mary (Ross) Matthews and father-in-law, George “Buck” Rankin.

     Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Deborah (King) Matthews; son, Jeremy Matthews and his girlfriend Sarah Cumberland; two brothers, Alan Matthews and Keith Matthews; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; mother-in-law, Judy Rankin and family, Charlene Riggin, Jody Bittinger, Janice and Randy Bittinger, Gerald Rankin and George Rankin Jr.

     Ken was a loving husband, father, role model and mentor to all of his family and friends.

     He served the community as a firefighter/EMT for many years and he persued that in his career at US Steel

     Ken was a lifetime member of the McClellandtown Fire Company.

     The family will greet friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Monday 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 9 to 10:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dave McElroy officiating.       

     Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown, Pa.
