Susan Mullen, Columbus, Ohio
Susan (Ronan) Mullen, 66, of Columbus, OH, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 20, 2019 with loved ones by her side.
She was born July 24, 1952 to Dorothy (Dobis) Ronan and the late Paul Ronan. She grew up in Beaverdale, PA and was a 1970 graduate of Forest Hills High School in Sidman, PA. Susan married the late Thomas Mullen in 1989 in Uniontown, PA, where they lived their lives happily together for 21 years. She spent her career as an X-ray and Ultrasound technician in both Uniontown Hospital and Cherry Tree Medical Associates. She retired in 2014 and relocated to Columbus, OH to help care for her granddaughter, which is how she earned the prestigious title of “Nanny.” Susan was an avid football fan, spending NFL Sundays in her comfortable Steelers chair cheering and waving her terrible towel. She had a great sense of humor, a positive spirit, and a beautiful smile.
Susan is survived by two daughters, Megan Swaney, and Erin (Matthew) Zix, from her first marriage to Terry Swaney; granddaughter, Kyla Zix; brother, Robert Ronan; sister, Sharon (Dave) Pruchnik; sister-in-laws, Pauline (Ray) Fendlay and Elizabeth (Steve) Marva; and brother-in-law John (Ginny) Danko.
In addition to her father and husband, Susan is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Paul and Helen Ronan; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Susan Dobis; father-in-law Harold Brent Mullen; and mother-in-law Iona Mullen.
