Andrew J. Skala, Uniontown, Pa.
Andrew J. Skala, 83 of Uniontown, Pa. was a resident of Premier Washington, Washington County, Pa. for two years and passed away there on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
He was one of seven siblings born to Mary K. and Floyd E. Skala. He was a child of God.
Andrew went to school at Footedale Elementary and then to German Township High School graduating with the Class of 1959.
He served in the US Army Reserve for twenty years which enabled him to explore many areas of the United States.
Andrew was a resident of the city of Uniontown for fifty-five years and attended the Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Uniontown.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Floyd P. Skala and sisters, Dorothy M. Martoncik, Pauline J. Skala and Josephine P. McCollum.
Surviving are his brother, Joseph T. Skala; sister, Susan M. Ozanich and nieces, Maria Stamates and her husband Vincent and Bernadette Gurmock and her husband Mark and their son Dalton.
With heartfelt thanks for the care and understanding of Andrew, his caregivers would describe Andrew as moody, cantankerous and funny at times.
No public viewing, funeral arrangements are being handled by the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass in SS. Cyril and Methodius R.C. Church, 50 North Morgantown Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Thursday, November 14th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
