Betty McFadden Obituary

Betty McFadden, passed away peacefully awaiting the awakening of her Savior Jesus Christ, at the age of 78 at Uniontown Hospital on July 21, 2024. She was born on January 25, 1946 to Robert and Viola McClain of “Fancy Hill”, Lake Lynn, Pa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Ray and siblings: Mike and Dorothy McClain.

Betty was a homemaker and also served as a life-long member and then Pastor of the Gospel Church of Fairchance on Lyons Avenue in Fairchance, PA. She officiated the baptisms, dedications, and even marriages of some of her grandchildren. Betty’s life journey was for God and family.

Betty is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, William (Bill) Wilfred McFadden, Jr. Additionally, she is also survived by her children: Tammy and husband Douglas Allison, William (Will) McFadden and his wife Tonya, Jean and her husband Terry Robatin, Julie and her husband David Rutter and the granddaughter she raised since 6 months old, Chassie Ann and her husband Rick Adams. She was loved by the following grandchildren and then great-grandchildren: William(Billy) McFadden, IV, Kayla McFadden, Terry Robatin and wife Piper, Jerry Kissinger III and wife Rachel, Leah Kissinger and fiancée Kurt Strininger, Tiffany Firmstone and husband Travis, David Rutter and wife Kristen, her adopted grandson, Jimmy Smith, Olivia and Lexi McFadden and Ryan McFadden. Her great-grandchildren include: Shayla McFadden, Elijah and Noah Robatin, LilahRaye Adams, Gabriel Kissinger, Colin and Violet Firmstone and David Rutter, III.

Betty was the oldest of 10 siblings. She is survived by her brothers Henry McClain and his wife Donna, Dave McClain and his wife Lana, Bobby McClain and his wife Toni and Arthur McClain; sisters Viola Bair, Kathy Wolfe, Janet Gidley and her husband Bob, and Bess Hurt.

Betty was blessed with the gift of saying “see you later” (never goodbye) the last few weeks of her life to friends and family and ask that her viewing and funeral service be private for her husband, children and immediate family. The private viewing was held at the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 2pm to 4 pm and then 6pm to 8pm. The last family private viewing was held on July 26, 2024 at 10am to 11 am and service, officiated by her daughter Julie Ann, held at 11am. Interment followed where she was laid to rest next to her son, Ray at the Fairview Cemetery in Dilliner, PA.
