Carolyn Moser Hoone, Smithfield, PA
Carolyn Moser Hoone, 86, of Smithfield, PA passed away with her devoted sons, twin sister and loving family by her side on January 20, 2025, at WVU Uniontown Hospital.
Carolyn was born on August 14, 1938, in Haydentown, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Brown Moser and Hannah Frances Abraham Moser; her husband of 51 years, Robert Hoone and her brother-in-law, Felton Clark.
Surviving are her twin sister, Marilyn Clark, her brother, Lloyd Moser (Betty), and her three cherished and devoted sons, Robert Hoone (Melanie), David Hoone (Kathy), and Craig Hoone. Carolyn had three very loved grandchildren, Rebecca Hoone, Cory Hoone (Laura) and Cullen Hoone (Megan). She was also blessed by two great grandchildren, Xander Berry and Griffin Hoone.
Carolyn was the valedictorian of her graduating class from Georges Township High School, Class of 1956. Carolyn was a faithful member of the Whitehouse Free Methodist Church, and she taught the adult Sunday school class for many years.
Carolyn was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at Auto Land Hyundai, Bortz Coal Company, Albert Gallatin Visiting Nurses, Gallatin Bank and Smithfield State Bank.
The family expresses deep gratitude to the employees of the Horizon Personal Care Home, Fairchance, PA. for the compassionate care provided to Carolyn during her stay with them.
The family will receive friends and family at the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, PA on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 3:00PM – 7:00PM and on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 10:00AM – 11:00AM. The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM with Pastor Jim Jobes officiating.
Interment will follow at Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, PA.
