Darwin L. Miller, 82, of Smithfield passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2025
in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV., He was the son of Harold “Doc” and I. Virginia Miller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon, sister,
Eloise, and brother, Barry.
Darwin had a strong faith in his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, and was a member of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church and the Paul Tarcy Sunday School Class. He along with his parents started Miller’s Greenhouses & Flower Shop in 1959 and worked along with his children for many years where he continued to do what he loved. He had a passion for hard work and enjoyed his time planting, watering, maintaining the greenhouses and interacting with his many customers.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jill (Doug) Hillard, Jeff (Bobbi Jo) Miller, and Jody (Rodney) Miller; Grandchildren, Allison Miller, Kassie (William) Hymes, Dez Hillard, and Kameron Miller; Sister, Lycinda Lytle: Sisters-in-Law, Janis Casebeer, Jill Molton, Jackie Wirbicki and brother-in-law, Mark (Jackie) Uhazie, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, PA on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Darrell Edgar officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
