Dorothy Leadbeater Obituary

Obituary for Dorothy Gail Tate-Leadbeater

Dorothy Gail Tate-Leadbeater went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 28, 2025. She was born on January 21, 1934, in Georges Township, to Carson and Stella (Clark) Tate, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Lincoln and husband, Abraham; and her granddaughter, April Lincoln.

Dorothy resided in Smithfield, PA, with her son, Keith Leadbeater, and his wife, Mary, for more than 25 years, as they were her primary caretakers. In the past, Dorothy attended the Free Methodist Church in Fairchance, PA, with her family. In more recent years, she had the pleasure of witnessing her son, Kevin Leadbeater, preach at his church—something that brought her great joy and pride. She was a loving mother, grandmother, “Nanny,” sister, aunt, and cousin. Dorothy was very well known for her amazing baking, especially her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls. She always had kind words to say about others, and her favorite saying was, “I thank the good Lord above.”

Dorothy will be missed dearly by her loved ones, but we find comfort in knowing she is with our Lord and Savior. “We are of good courage and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” —2 Corinthians 5:8

Survived by her loving children are Keith Leadbeater and wife Mary of Smithfield, PA; Kevin Leadbeater and wife Shelly of Newburg, WV; Roy Kelley and wife Debbie of Uniontown, PA; Twila Miller and husband William of Fairchance, PA

Grandchildren; Stephanie Garland (Leadbeater) and husband Bryant of Newport News, VA; Matthew Leadbeater and wife Alyssa of Uniontown, PA; Jennifer Phillip and husband Justin of Uniontown, PA; Amanda D’Andrea (Leadbeater) and husband Chris of Uniontown, PA; Felicia Arthur (Leadbeater) of Sandusky, Ohio; Kevin Leadbeater Jr. of Connellsville, PA; Aaron Trump of Uniontown, PA; Heather Seibert (Lincoln) and husband Max of Uniontown, PA; Joe Lincoln and wife Carolyn of Smithfield, PA; Ryan Lincoln of Smithfield, PA; Brian Lincoln of Smithfield, PA; Roy Kelley Jr. and wife Dorothy of McClellandtown, Pa.; Jason Kelley and wife Erica of Fairbanks, AK; Danielle Pulice and husband Frank of York, PA; Brian Bircher and wife Gretchan of Smithfield, PA; Cathy Abraham and husband Ed of Smithfield, PA

Several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her sister Betty Felton of Smithfield, PA; she was preceded in death by her sisters Madonna Bartko, Catherine Haines, Virginia Ferrari, and Ann Kendro. Preceded in death by her brothers Jack Tate, John Tate, and Carson Tate Jr (Pete).
