Elsie Grace (Core) Dodson Williams, Smithfield, Pa.

     Elsie Grace (Core) Dodson Williams, 84 of Smithfield, Pa. passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023.

     She was born March 17, 1939 in Uniontown, Pa.

     Preceding her in death were her parents, William Core and Anna Mae (Hodge) Core; husbands, Albert Dodson and Donnie Williams; sons, Bob Dodson, Frank Dodson, Donnie Lee Williams and Issac Williams; granddaughter, Madison; brother, Butch and sisters, Helen and Peggy.

      Surviving are her sons and daughter, William and Bonnie Dodson, Linda Smitley and Jimmy, and Ronald Williams and fiance’ Jamie; grandchildren, Jill, Darlene, Cassandra, Sherry, Kelly, Racheal, Sarah, Wyatt, Greg, Marty,  Missy,  Joey, Weaser “Donald, Mary Jo, Dawn Nicole, Carolyn, Samantha, Monica and Junior; many great grandchildren; a few great great grandchildren; special granddaughter/caregiver, Missy Dodson; sisters, Betty, Carol, Norma, Sandy, Kathy and Faye; step-grandchildren, Daisy and Timothy Myers and many close friends.

     Elsie was a woman of God and a loving mother and grandmother to everyone.  She enjoyed helping others and caring for anyone she could.  Elsie devoted her life to the Lord. She loved singing in gospel groups, spending time with her family, tending her flower beds, reading the Bible, praying and talking to Jesus! She liked going on long mountain drives and hitting up every yard sale in town.  

      Her presence brightened any room she entered and she welcomed everyone she met with a smile and love.  To know her, was to love her! 

     The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The funeral service begins at 12:00 p.m. with David Harden officiating.

     Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
