Ethel Irene "Betty" Swaney, 95 of Fairchance, Pa. went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
She was born January 14, 1928 in Fairchance, Pa.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Jesse Sutton and Maggie (Rhodes) Sutton; her husband, George Swaney; son, George Swaney Jr, and daughter-in-law Deborah Swaney; and siblings, Phillip “Bud” Sutton, Ann Hull, Sarah Boord, John Sutton, Thelma “Joan” Golden and Belva “Belle” Wilson.
Surviving is her daughter, Colleen (James) Wolfe; grandchildren, Sarah (Mark) Skoric and George Swaney III; great grandchildren, Jaclyn Rider, Mia Swaney, George Swaney IV, Leo Swaney, and Jude Swaney; siblings, Ralph “Elick” Sutton and Marvin “Max” Sutton and many loving nieces and nephews.
Betty was a devoted member of Fairchance Free Methodist Church for many years. Betty’s calling from the Lord was caring and baking for others.
The family will receive friends and family in the Fairchance Free Methodist Church, Walk By Faith, 53 South Morgantown Street, Fairchance, Pa. 15436 on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Jobes officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of Amedisys Hospice Uniontown and the staff of The LaFayette Manor for all of the loving care given to Betty.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for Backpack Ministry, checks to be made out to Fayette County Youth Charity and mailed to, Springfield CNP Elementary School, 14 School House Road, Normalville, Pa. 15469.
