Eugene William Funk, Uniontown, Pa.

    Eugene William Funk, 79 of Uniontown, Pa. passed away on September 3, 2025.

     He was born June 29th, 1946 in Daisytown, Pa.

     He served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion and AMVETS Post 103 where he served on the Honor Guard for Military Rites since 1995.

     Gene was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Rowland and Hunter Smith his great grandchild.

     Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Lou Kessler Funk; his children, Scott Eugene Funk and wife Erica of Masontown, Pa., Elizabeth Ann Funk of Masontown, Pa., William Eugene Funk of Ralph, Pa.; step-daughter, Bobbi Jo Ruble and husband Steve of Masontown, Pa., step-daughter, Michelle Milligan of Jeanette, Pa.; sisters, Sandra Wallace and Audrey Flick; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and his service dog Bella.

     Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11th, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Cecil Township, Bridgeville, Pa. 15017 on Friday, September 12th , 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with Military Rites being accorded by General Marshall AMVETS Post 103 Honor Guard.
