Frank Francis Resko, Silver Springs, Maryland
On August 12, 2019, Frank Francis Resko, of Silver Springs, MD passed away.
Frank was currently a resident of Prairie Hills Assisted Living in Independence, Iowa. Frank was born in Collier, PA, the son of John and Helen Resko, on April 7, 1929. He graduated from Georges Township High School in York Run, PA and worked in a bakery a short time before being drafted into the Army. He served in Korea from 1951-1953, and later moved to Maryland, where he worked for Heidi Bakery, Inc. as a division manager. He was a master baker who loved to garden and cook. After retiring, Frank sold produce to local grocery stores. He often shared his baked goods and produce with others.
Frank married Mary Lou Jans of Fairchance, PA in 1953. He later divorced, and married Ethel Brownfield of Fairchance, PA. Ethel and Frank lived in Silver Spring, MD for 53 years.
Frank is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel, a daughter, Diane, by his brothers Mike, John, Andy, Chuck, and Joe, and sisters Mary Hubeny, Margaret Duritsa Cooper, and Betty Kovach.
The family will greet friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street Fairchance, PA. on Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa. with Military Rites being accorded by General Marshall Amvets Post 103.
