Gerald "Gerry" Anthony Roskovensky

Gerald “Gerry” Anthony Roskovensky, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a man of profound Catholic faith, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Born to the late Gertrude and Vincent Roskovensky, Gerry was raised with strong values that guided him throughout his life. He graduated from Fairchance-Georges High School in 1972 and went on to earn his college degree from West Virginia University in 1976.

Gerry dedicated many years of service to his work at Koppers Industries, where he began on June 1, 1976, and remained until his retirement on March 31, 2014. He took great pride in his work and in the life he built for his family.

A deeply devoted Catholic, his faith was the foundation of his life.

Above all, Gerry cherished his family. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Carr) Roskovensky, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership—they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November 2026. He was a proud and deeply loving father to Jeremy and his wife, Kelly, with their children Jacob, Brayden, and Allie; Greg and his wife, Sara, with their children Theo and Nora; Sarah and her husband, Andrew “Drew,” with their children Evan and Ryan; and Daniel and his wife, Carly, with their children Elouise and Juliette. Nothing brought Gerry more joy than being “Grandpap” to his cherished grandchildren, who filled his life with laughter, love, and endless happiness.

Gerry also leaves behind his beloved siblings: Denise; Jean and her husband, James “Butch”; and Vincent and his wife, Christine. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol; and in-laws, Nora and Cloyd Carr.

In his free time, Gerry found peace and fulfillment in woodworking and hunting. He found true joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments, especially those spent with the people he loved most.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects in Fairchance, Pennsylvania, Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  and on Saturday, March 28, 2026 until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 50 North Morgantown Street, Fairchance, Pa. Interment follows in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.

Gerry will be remembered for his strong faith, gentle spirit, and the love he shared so freely with his family. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the memories that will be cherished forever.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
