Heather Renee (Rice) Loughry

    Heather Renee (Rice) Loughry, 43, originally of Smithfield, PA passed away at home on October 8, 2024 after a lengthy illness.

    Heather was born August 28, 1981 in Uniontown to parents Dennis Rice of Smithfield, PA and Pamela (Dice) Brown of Fairchance, PA.

    She is preceded in death by her father Dennis Gregory Rice and paternal grandparents Dorothy and Steve Petko and maternal grandparents Norma and Robert E. Dice, Sr.

    Heather is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Ray Loughry and children, Dennis Alexander and Hollie Elizabeth of Morgantown, WV. She is also survived by her mother Pamela (Dice) Brown and stepfather Clinton Brown of Fort Myers, FL, a sister and sister in law Sarah (Rice) and Mercedes De La Concha of Fort Myers, FL and sister and brother in law Lauren (Hart) McIntyre and Steven McIntyre. Also survived by her in laws, Dennis and Debra Loughry of Morgantown, WV and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

    She was a graduate of Morgantown High School and Fayette County Vocational and Technical School and had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Heather's whole world was her children, husband and home. She continued to work in traffic control at the elementary school up into her last month.

    Heather's loving personality was as vibrant as her red hair. Heather loved to shop, craft and crochet.  She was always kind, never having a bad word or thought about anything or anyone. She was a beautiful person on the inside and out. Heather will be terribly missed, but not ever forgotten.

    A memorial service will be at the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, PA, on Saturday October 19, 2024 at 4 pm with Pastor Michael Lyons officiating. Family and friends will then be received for fellowship dinner at 5 pm at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 27 North Main Street, Fairchance, PA.
