James Nicholson Black, 68 of Masontown, Pa. passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
He was born September 11, 1957 in Providence, Rhode Island.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Vernie Ruth and Frank Nicholson Black.
Surviving are his siblings, John (Diana) Black, Eunice Black, and Earl Black; nieces and nephews, Michael (Darla) McClead, John Black II, April Black, and Eunice Black; great nieces and great nephews, Michael F. (Amber) McClead, Zachary McClead and Hailey, Olivia Black, and Willow Black; great great nephew, Bryce McClead; great great niece, Sophia McClead and many good friends.
James was a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School Class of 1975.
He was formerly employed as a US Park Ranger at Friendship Hill; a police officer for Point Marion, Smithfield and Dawson Boroughs; a security guard at various local businesses; a Monongahela River barge worker and a construction worker in the Florida Keys.
A Private Family Graveside Interment Service will be held at Old Frame Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
