James Edward Gillespie

James Edward Gillespie, Smithfield, Pa.

     James Edward Gillespie, 77 of Georges Township, Smithfield, Pa. passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 1, 2018.

     He was born May 20, 1941 in Mount Pleasant, Pa. the son of James Francis Gillespie and Dolly Marie (Hammel) Gillespie.

     Preceding him in death were his parents; son, James Patrick Gillispie; sister, Patricia Gallo; brothers, Gerald Gillispie and Kenneth Gillispie and sons-in-law, Craig Holt and Alex Crable.

     Surviving are his loving wife of 36 years, Betty (Senda) Gillespie; daughters, Kelly and Kent Ferchalk, Melissa Holt and Tammy Labash; grandson who made his home with him-Nathan Holt; grandchildren; great grandchildren; brothers, George and Vickie Gillespie and David and Darlene Gillispie; nieces; nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

     Jim served in the U.S. Army.

     The family will greet friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 6, 2018 when a Blessing Service will be held at 10:00 a.m.

     Interment will follow in Woodbridge Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa. with Military Rites being accorded by Amvets Post 103.
