James “Jimbo” Vincent Jordon Jr., Lake Lynn, Pa.
James “Jimbo” Vincent Jordon Jr., 77 of Lake Lynn, Pa. passed away at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. on Monday, October 21, 2024.
He was born Tuesday, December 31, 1946 in Connellsville, Pa. the son of James Jordon and Mary (Aretta) Jordon.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the US Army with the 11th Calvary in 1966/67; a lifetime member of the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood; a lifetime member of the 11th CAV; a member of the VVI (Vietnam Veterans Incorporated) Fayette County, Pa. and a member of American Legion Post 945.
Jim was the owner of Jordon Trucking and Jordon Coal Company, Lake Lynn, Pa.; co-owner of Princess Homes and Smith Coal Yard.
He retired from United Defense in Uniontown, Pa. in 2007.
Jim was a very proud disabled Vietnam Veteran, a remarkable, caring husband, giving father, and extremely proud grandfather (pap)who deeply cherished his grandsons and loved seeing them run Cross Country and Track, especially for UNCA Asheville. He loved to hunt and fish and was a classic car enthusiast, spending many hours building and enjoying his many classic cars.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Mary and James Jordon formerly of Connellsville, his sister Mary Gray, brother-in-law Daniel Gray, nephew Daniel Gray, his twin sister Theresa Jordan, his youngest sister Bonnie Jordan and her son Adam Jordan.
Surviving are his loving wife Candice Jordon, Lake Lynn, his very special daughter Dr. Jacquelyn Jordon Core, Fairchance, Pa, his grandsons, Jackson Glenn Core and Jeffrey Preston Core, Fairchance, Pa, sister Pamela DeBerry, brother-in-law Tom DeBerry, Connellsville, Pa., brother-in-law, Ted Smith, Uniontown, Pa., nephew Theadore Smith and niece Nicole Smith.
The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Military Rites being accorded at the funeral home at 3:45 p.m. by General Marshall AMVETS Post 103.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to: Tunnel to Towers Foundation and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
