Lelia G. Thomas, Uniontown, Pa.
Lelia G. Thomas, born April 27, 1956, passed away peacefully in her home on August 31, 2025, after a year long battle with cancer.
Lelia is the daughter of the late Charles Edward Thomas and Ida Louise (Mosako) Thomas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel Thomas and Ronald Thomas and her sisters, Charlene “Sissy” Blackstone and Lina Thomas.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Christina May (Robert), Greg Thomas and Robert Leichliter (Jennifer); her granddaughter, Emilee May (whom Lelia referred to as her “Lambchop”; her siblings, Gloria Kostelnik, Charles Thomas Jr., Samuel Thomas, Ada Clark (Robert), Barry Thomas (Ramona) and Bruce Thomas (Ida) ; her aunts, Kitty Bradley, Joyce Turner, and Sheila Eshelman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lelia retired from Mt. Macrina after over 20 years of employment.
She enjoyed music (especially Elvis), dancing, watching Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right and old western movies. She loved playing cards and parties with her family. “Aunt Lee” was the “all time pitcher” for her children’s, niece’s and nephew’s kickball and baseball games.
Her greatest joy was her granddaughter and spending time with her large crazy, loving family.
The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Bryan Kelley officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
Any food donations for the funeral repast can be taken to the Amvets Post 103 in Hopwood on Friday for 11:30 a.m.
