Linda L. Dillow Chipps McCoy, Smithfield, Pa.

     Linda L. Dillow Chipps McCoy, 81 of Smithfield, Pa. went home to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

     She was born June 14, 1944 in Georges Twp., Pa., daughter of the late Perry and Mary Myers Dillow.

     In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Ray McCoy; two step sons, Kenneth Jr. and James; grandchild, Jerod; siblings, Ernie and Janet Dillow, Sara and Percy Braddee, Arlene Durant, Ilene and Harry Straitiff, and Alphie and Jean Dillow; and special friend, Naomi Myers and several nieces.

     She was the last surviving member of her parent’s immediate family.

     Surviving are her loving children, Bill and Sandy Chipps, Jeff Chipps, Tina and Ken Sokol, Sheila and Terry Grimm, Scott and Kalia Chipps, Dawn and Jim Dice, and Sheila and Chuck; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; several close nieces and nephews; Lisa Shaffer her hairdresser who she considered a daughter; church family and many close friends.

    Linda was a faithful member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church and the New Life Sunday School Class.

    She spent her life feeding the multitudes, having family dinners, mom’s coffee shop, baking and endless hours of playing cards.

     The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Additional viewing will be on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 30 Church Street, Smithfield, Pa. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Darrell Edgar officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Moriah Baptist Church or your favorite charity. 

     A Special Thank You is extended to Amedisys Hospice, Better Living Home Care, and Twin Oaks Homecare for many years of loving care given to Mom.
