Marilyn June Kingan, (Brady), York, Pa.
Marilyn June Kingan (Brady) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning April 22nd, 2025 at Country Meadows, York, Pa.
June was born on June 23, 1927 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania to Carl Ray Brady Sr. and Mary (Ridenour) Brady. She married Earl Robert Kingan on June 1st, 1957, they built a life in Westlake, Ohio where they raised their daughters.
June is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Cantley of Olmsted Township, Ohio and Jane Nini and her husband Tony of Stewartstown, Pa. Additionally, June is survived by her grandchildren Laura and Jim Cantley, her great-grandchild Maggie Cantley, and her brother, Donald Brady of Elyria, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her husband Earl, four brothers, Carl Ray Jr., James, Richard, and Daniel and by three sisters, Priscilla Dillow, Francis Dunham, and Betty Brady.
Junes’s life was a testimony to her faith in Jesus Christ. She was an active member of the Westlake Free Methodist Church in Ohio, the Valley Baptist Church in Lutherville, Maryland and the Grace Baptist Church in York, Pennsylvania. After moving to Country Meadows, she took an active role in Bible studies and worship services. She used opportunities in her life to share God’s grace with others. She loved Jesus and was known as a prayer warrior. She lived the verse “Pray without ceasing”. She maintained a long list of the needs of others and for the salvation of friends and family, for whom she prayed for daily. It was her heart’s desire that her family and friends would accept God’s gift of salvation and that they would come to know the grace and life experienced through a relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Viewings will be held in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Sunday, April 27th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Monday, April 28th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Jobes officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa. Additionally, a Celebration of Life service will be held on May 17th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Country Meadows, on Leaders Heights, in York, Pa.
