Marjorie A. (Grimm) Humphrey
March 29, 1937 – October 28, 2025
Marjorie A. (Grimm) Humphrey, 88, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home on October 28, 2025. Born on March 29, 1937, in Bethelboro, PA, she spent most of her life in Uniontown, where she was a devoted mother, faithful servant, and cherished member of the community.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry L. Humphrey, Jr.; infant daughter, Dana Louise; parents, Clarence and Sarah (Harper) Grimm; and brother, Harold Grimm.
She is survived by loving children, Debra Humphrey and Harry L. Humphrey III; sister, Virginia Prouty; and brother, Richard Grimm. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Janet Wolverton, Colleen Brazill, June Humphrey, Donna Humphrey, and Patricia Grimm; along with many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
A lifelong member of the Uniontown Church of the Brethren, she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon. Later, Marjorie was honored as Deacon Emeritus for years of dedicated service and unwavering faith. She was also a devoted member of the church choir, sharing her love of music and worship with the congregation. Her kindness, compassion, and quiet strength touched many lives within the church and beyond.
She was a proud member of the Uniontown Chapter of the Degree of Honor, where lasting friendships were formed through fellowship and service.
During the holiday season, Marjorie’s friends and family looked forward to her holiday treats including her pumpkin roll, Church Window cookies, and homemade peanut butter balls. They knew the treats were made with the love and kindness Marjorie devoted to every task.
Employed for 29 years with the Laurel Highlands School District, she began as a custodian at Hatfield Elementary and later served not only as a cafeteria worker but earned the title of Cafeteria Manager at both Hatfield and Hutchinson Elementary Schools. A gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and warm smile were fondly remembered by both students and colleagues.
Marjorie will be remembered for deep faith, love of family, and lifelong commitment to serving others. Her legacy of devotion, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Friends will be received at the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, PA, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ed Moore officiating.
Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Brownfield, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Marjorie A. Humphrey.
