Martha Marva, Shoaf, Pa.

     Martha Marva, 88 of Shoaf, Pa. passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 with her loving son by her side.

     She was born November 5, 1936 in Shoaf, Pa. to Mary Dobish and George Wonkovich Sr.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 56 years, Richard J. Marva Sr. and her only brother, George Wonkovich Jr.

     Surviving are her son, Richard J. Marva Jr.; sisters-in-law, Patty Wonkovich, Carolyn and Paul Marva, Elizabeth Marva, Helen Jane Kuchno and Mary Ann Skala and many nieces and nephews.

     Martha was formerly employed at the Fayette County Assessment Office and later as Office Manager of American Heart Association in Uniontown until retirement.

     She was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels and attended until health concerns prevented her from attending in recent years.

     The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, August 22, 2025 until 11:30 a.m. when a Memoria Service will be held with Very Rev. Presbyter Sasha Nedic officiating. Pomen Service will be Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

     Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.

     A special thank you is extended to the staff of Perroni Personal Care Home and also to Maranda at Amedisys Hospice Uniontown and Michelle at OSPTA Hospice for all of the loving care given to Martha.
