Michele (Engle) Layhue

     Michele Layhue 69 of Fairchance Pa. passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 at home with her family by her side.

     She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard Layhue Sr.; parents, Arthur and Ethel Engle; siblings , Elmer Engle , Dolores Angelo , Harry Engle, Violet Engle, Arthur Engle ,Osabee Thomas, Ethel Meade, Roy Engle and Samuel Engle. She was the last surviving member of her parent’s immediate family.

     She leaves behind 3 children, Sharon Edgar and husband Richard , Howard Layhue Jr. , and Amanda Layhue; also 10 grandchildren, Jessica Anderson and husband Christopher, Richard Edgar Jr. , Matthew Edgar and fiancé Danielle Power, Howard Layhue III and fiancé Gillian Garrett and her children, Shane and Logan , Joshua Layhue and fiancé Alana McHenry, Edward Layhue and fiancé Katlyn Simon and her children, Kylie and Jaxson, James Fisher, Leland Layhue, Emily Pahel and  husband Christian and Christopher Edgar, 11 great grandchildren, Jordan Pahel , Gracelyn Pahel , Jackson Pahel, Olivia Pahel , Parker Pahel, Bentley Layhue , Alaya Layhue, Everleigh Layhue, Skylar Layhue, Oliver Edgar and Atlas Edgar and 1 on the way(Kylo Layhue). Shelly loved her family and always put them first and she was loved so deeply and will be missed till the end of time. 

     The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. the hour of service. Interment will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
