Ralph “Elick” Sutton, Fairchance, Pa.
Ralph “Elick” Sutton, 99 of Fairchance, Pa. passed away on March 20, 2024.
He was born November 14, 1924, son of the late Jesse and Maggie Rhodes Sutton.
Ralph served in the US Army in the Pacific Theatre during W.W.II and was a member of the UMWA, a retired coal miner after 40 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 73 years, Ida Swaney Sutton; his brothers, Philip “Bud” Sutton Sr. and wife Eleanor, Walter “John” Sutton and wife Mildred and sisters, Ann Hull and husband Mofford, Sarah Boord and husband Joseph, Joan Golden and husband Ivan, Belva Wilson and husband Harry and Betty Swaney and husband George.
Ralph is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Sutton of Fairchance; brother, Marvin “Max” Sutton of Smithfield and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor James Jobes officiating. Private interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
