Reverend Robert L. “Bob” Whoolery, Masontown, Pa.

     Reverend Robert L. “Bob” Whoolery, 91 of Masontown, Pa. passed away on December 22, 2018 in the Jefferson Hospital at 4:00 p.m. Brother Whoolery went home to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

     Bob, born July 7, 1927, was preceded in death by his daughter, Roberta Griffiths; parents, Sidwell Whoolery and Violet (Myers) Whoolery; brother, Charles Whoolery and sister, Donna Benjamin.

     He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Naomi (Pierce) Whoolery; daughter, Lucinda Hughell and her fiancé Rick Dodd, Brownsville, Pa.; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Chuck Hughes, Fairchance, Pa.; grandchildren, Chad and Michelle Griffiths, Amherst, VA, Joshua Griffiths, Uniontown, Pa., Tatum and Donald Miller, New Geneva, Pa., Tom and Angie Burrie, Carmichaels, Pa., Meghann and Ben Richards, Carmichaels, Pa., Caitlyn Burrie (Glenn Davis), Masontown, Pa., Rebekah London, Millsboro, DE, and Nicolette Hughes, Carmichaels, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Zalia, Judah, and Isa Griffiths, Elin Jane and Emmett Griffiths, Sabrina and Sierra Miller, Easton and Kace Burrie, Cooper Richards, Kassidy, Kyra and Alexis London and Josh Davis; his brothers, Jim (Joan) Whoolery and Wayne (Linda) Whoolery; sisters, Nancy Paull, Sandy Zedeker and Launa Gail Tate as well as many nieces and nephews that he loved so much.

     Bob served his country during World War II as a gunner on the USS Reynolds in the South Pacific.

     Rev. Whoolery was a minister for the Free Methodist Church, pastoring in many churches in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, as well as doing evangelistic work in several states. His mission in life was to share the Gospel of Jesus and to bring people to the saving knowledge of Christ’s love for us!! He also worked driving truck, in the coke ovens, driving school bus and as a security guard. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

     The family will greet friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Hopwood Free Methodist Church, 116 Hopwood-Coolspring Road, Hopwood, Pa. from 10 to 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service begins at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Wayne Whoolery and Reverend Roger Yeager officiating.

     Private interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery with Military Rites being accorded by General Marshall Amvets Post 103.
