Riley Theodore Harbarger, Brownsville, Pa.
Riley Theodore Harbarger, 86 of Brownsville, Pa. passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024.
Riley was born on April 8th,1938 to the late Isaac Harbarger and Mary Baughman Harbarger.
Riley was a proud Navy Veteran serving the country he loved. After the Navy, Riley was always known for his love of life, fast cars, and never knew a stranger as he loved to talk to everybody. Riley worked as a wrestling promoter for the WWF, managed musical acts such as his beloved friend Joe Long, and later went into the auto body business fixing and painting cars. Late into his life, he met his wife to be, Nelle Haberny Harbarger, and finished up the remainder of his years fixing and selling tractors. Riley was known as a jack-of-all trades and could fix any mechanical machine that came his way.
Preceding him in death was his beloved son, Riley Dana Harbarger; his wife, Nelle Haberny Harbarger, and his sisters, Regina Harbarger Hornsby, Mildred Baughman Swaney, Linda Weasonforth and Sarah Mae Harbarger-Oris; brother Donald Harbarger.
Riley is survived by his daughter-in-law, Ida Mae Guthrie Harbarger; his children Sherry Finnegan and Darryl Harbarger; grandchildren, Riley Michael Harbarger and wife Tammi, Farryn Harbarger Lytle, Mya Bailey-Harbarger, Danica Bailey-Harbarger, Wyatt Harbarber, Bella Harbarger and Starr Harbarger; great grandchildren, Riley-Dana Hudson Harbarger, Jacob Lytle, Tessa Lytle, Julie Lytle and Eli Lytle; and siblings Josephine Harbarger, Karen Doty Harbarger, Arnold Harbarger, all of Phoenix, Ariz., and Isaac Harbarger of Charlotte, N.C. and Claudia Harbarger Baird, of Uniontown, PA, and many close friends.
The family will greet friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. with tributes by clergy, friends and family. Military Rites will be accorded by General Marshall Amvets Post 103 Honor Guard.
