Robert D. Wood

Robert D. Wood, age 86, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024. Bob was born on May 9, 1938, in Point Marion, PA, to Percy and Dorothy Wood. He graduated from Point Marion High School and proudly served in the United States Army.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He cherished attending Arp Emanuel Baptist Church as often as possible. Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed playing cards, watching basketball, and carpentry work, often building projects in his shop. He had a passion for antique cars and loved spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; his sister, Brenda and husband Mike; his children, Cindy and husband John, Greg and wife Ilsun, and Deborah and husband Greg; his grandchildren, Jamie, Bobby, Emily, Jeremy, Lakin, Tyler, Dashiell, and Wil; and his great-grandchildren, Addison, Whittaney, Hayden, Hailey, Havenly, Kallen, Kamden, Kortlan, Kohen, and John.

A service will be held on July 6, 2024, at 11am at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Smithfield, PA and a Celebration of Life will be held on July 20, 2024 at Arp Emanuel Baptist Church, in Arp, Texas.  

Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We find comfort in knowing that he is being laid to rest at home and is now in heaven, watching over us.
