Ruth Elaine (Cole) Novotny

Ruth Elaine Novotny, Fairchance, PA.

     Ruth Elaine Cole Novotny, 93, of Fairchance, PA. passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023.

She was born June 21, 1930, in Fairchance, PA, the daughter of the late Albert Cole, Jr. and Sarah Marie (Conn) Cole. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Coleman Novotny, her daughter Nancy Novotny, and her sisters, Janet Datko and Connie Myers.

Ruth was Roman Catholic by faith.  She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother who enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner, and socializing with friends.  In her later years, she enjoyed attending the Fairchance Senior Citizen Center.    

Surviving are her close friends, Marcia Goisse Grimm, Alice Nan Chess and Marcy Flecker and family.   She remained an extended part of these families attending special occasions, holidays, and weekend gatherings until she was no longer physically able. 

     Visitation will be held in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Lyons officiating.

      Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance, PA.
