Shirley J. Brugger Cerny, 81 of High House, Pa. passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025.
She was born September 6, 1944.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Anthony and Bertha Lechner Brugger; brother, Anthony “Butch” Brugger and husband, John R. Cerny Jr., the love of her life for 47 years.
Surviving are her three children, John Raymond Cerny III and wife Melanie of Shoaf, Pa., Daniel Wayne Cerny and wife Melody of New Port News, Va. And Tonia Renee Crago and husband Christopher of High House, Pa. and seven grandchildren, Joshua, Juliana, Alexandra and Caroline Cerny of New Port News, Va., John R. Cerny IV and Analise Cerny both of Shoaf, Pa. and Anthony John Crago of High House, Pa.
Shirley was a lifelong member of SS. Cyril and Methodius R.C. Church in Fairchance and a member of the former German Grange # 785.
She was a former school bus driver for the Albert Gallatin School District and loved caring for her family.
The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Prayers of Transfer will begin at 10:30 a.m. with her Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. in SS. Cyril and Methodius R.C. Church, 50 North Morgantown Street, Fairchance, Pa.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
