Shirley Digiacomo, Fairchance, Pa.
Shirley Digiacomo, 81 of Fairchance, Pa. passed away with her loving family by her side on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
She was born February 16, 1943 in Pansy, W.Va.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Theodore and Beulah Simmons; siblings, Betty, Charles, Billie, Gary and Rick and husband, Mario Digiacomo.
Surviving are her children, Cynthia Tyler and husband Carl Tyler, Michelle Kurta, and Debbie King; grandchildren, Jessica Martin and Ryan Rates, Eric Martin and Danielle Martin, Amber Tyler, and Natasha Porto and husband Saturno Porto, Codi Vaughan and Chloe Hartland; twelve great grandchildren, Austin, Nicole, Jordan, Emma, Noah, Nethanyel, Jacquelyn, Kolton, Isaiah, Alexis, Ethan and Damien; great great grandson, Eastyn; siblings, Barbara, Donald, Wayne and Twila and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley's unwavering faith was the foundation of her life, and she exemplified it daily. She taught us about the love of Jesus and the importance of following Him in everything we do. Her favorite verses were Psalm 23, Psalm 91, and Proverbs 3:6. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your paths.
As a mother and grandmother, she was our rock and our guiding star, our source of strength and guidance for our family. She offered unconditional love, always there for us in times of need. Her love for her family, including her siblings, nieces, and nephews, was evident to all, and her devotion to her husband, Mario, was truly remarkable. Now they are together again.
The last thing she asked of me, (Michelle) was to stay close to Jesus and to help lead her loved ones to Him so that we can all be together again someday. I will devote my life to doing that. As we honor and love her—she also loved us all—and we will miss her every minute of every day.
The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Sunday from 12 Noon until 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Gideon Memorial Bibles, c/o Fayette County Gideons, P.O. Box 465, Hopwood, Pa. 15445.
