Spencer Metts, Georges Township, Pa.

     Spencer Metts, 57 of Georges Township, Pa. died unexpectedly on Friday, October 6, 2023 in the WVU Uniontown Hospital.

     He was born October 14, 1965 in Uniontown, Pa.

     Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Gail Ritenour Metts; mother-in-law, Antoinette Kern; father-in-law, Wayne Kern; grandchild, Lilly Grace and loving dog Daisy.

     Surviving are his loving wife of 25 years, Debbie; loving dog Luna; step son, Matthew and wife Doreen; grandchildren, Sammy and James; brother-in-law, David Kern and wife Danette; brother-in-law, Mark Kern and wife Trish; sister-in-law, Cindy Kaylor and close nephew Michael; many other loving nephews, nieces, cousins and many loving friends.

     Spencer was employed at the Uniontown Walmart for 28 years and part time for 5 years at the Uniontown Gabes.

     He loved to travel, loved to bowl and loved the West Virginia Mountaineers.

     For 38 years, Spencer was a Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department firefighter and also served as secretary and trustee.

     The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Smithfield VFD will conduct their memorial service at 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Leadbeater officiating.

     Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.
