74 Years Old
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen Budner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, godfather, friend and a truly one-of-a-kind individual. He departed this life on October 20th at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable memories.
Born in Collier PA, Stephen was known for his unwavering stubbornness and fierce dedication to his family. He was a devoted husband to Barbara (Babe) Wooten Budner, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Together, they raised 3 wonderful children who will forever cherish the lessons he imparted and the love he showered upon them.
As a grandfather, Stephen was a source of joy and wisdom for his 9 grandchildren. He delighted in sharing stories, imparting life lessons, and creating lasting memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
Stephen was a man of many passions. He was active in the Army Reserves for 10 years. He was an excellent truck driver and heavy equipment operator. His hobbies included hunting, white water rafting, and spending many hours at Labutta’s farm. He had a knack for fixing anything and everything. His stubbornness, while sometimes challenging, was also a testament to his strong character and determination—qualities that inspired those around him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Anna and Steve Budner; Brothers, Eugene (Joanne) Budner, Robert “Sonny” (Sandy) Budner; Sister, Annette Budner Zavatson (Charles). He is survived by his loving family, including his Wife Barbara (Wooten) Budner; Daughter, Jennifer Budner DeLorenzo (Steve); Sons, Jeffrey Budner (Carrie), Stephen Budner (Rachel); Grandchildren, Deanna DeLorenzo Shoaf (Thomas), Gabriella DeLorenzo, Ava, Anna, and Alex Budner, Stephen, Matthew & Jacob Budner; Great Grandson and Pappy’s “best buddy” Vincent Shoaf.
Stephen will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 26, 2024 until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said. The Funeral Mass follows at 10:00 a.m. in SS. Cyril and Methodius R.C. Church, 50 North Morgantown Street, Fairchance, Pa. with Rev. Fr. John Foriska as Celebrant. Interment follows in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Georges Township, Uniontown, Pa. with Military Rites being accorded by General Marshall Amvets Post 103.
