Theodore J. Reed “Ted”, Uniontown, Pa.

     Theodore J. Reed “Ted”, 87 of Uniontown, Pa. passed away with his loving family by his side at the Uniontown Hospital on December 31, 2017.

     He was born April 28, 1930 in Howesville, W.Va.

     Preceding him in death were his parents, Madge Reed and William Thorn; wife of 46 years, Doris Jean (Kent) Reed and siblings, William Thorn, Kathleen Casteel, Ralph Thorn, Buck Thorn and Geraldine Segley.

     Surviving are three children, Toni Anthony and husband Jim and Christy Smith and husband Ray both of Fairchance, Pa. and Ted Reed II and wife Kathy of Masontown, Pa.; three grandchildren, Faith Reed, Teddy Reed III and Lindsey Reed; three great-grandchildren; many other family members and the Sabatula Family.

     Ted was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant having received the Purple Heart and various other medals for his honorable service. He was a member of North Union VFW Post 8543, American Legion Post 51 and the Catholic War Veterans Post 1669.

     He was the owner and operator of Wynn Equipment for many years.

     The family will greet friends and family in the Dean C. Whitmarsh Funeral Home, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 10 to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Military Rites being accorded by North Union VFW Post 8543.

     Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
